My eldest child – my first born – turns nine today. According to him, “nine is not that different to eight”. Who knew?
Here is a post from the NDM archives commemorating his tumultuous and triumphant entrance into the world…‘The Birth Plan’.
Happy birthday, Mr Justice.
Happy birthday to Niney McEight!
Seriously warm wishes from up here! Happy 9th Mr J. From B.S. – 9 in two days π
I’ve read your birth plan post before yet it still made me both laugh and cry to re-read it today. Happy Birthday to Mr Justice and happy birth day to you!
Did your hubby actually take off his shirt to give your boy skin-to-skin while you were unconscious? If that doesn’t scream, “Keeper!” I don’t know what would. Happy birthday to your big boy!
I clicked back and read the birthing story.
I had absolutely no idea what birthing entailed so had no plan for my babies birthings, just get to the hospital and come home with a baby. I didn’t even know one could have a plan. Possibly that wasn’t done much back in the 70’s?
Anyway, what’s so special about whale songs? I’ve heard about this many times since I had my babies, with people wanting this sort of thing. To me, whale song is just odd squeaking noises. If I was to choose birth music I’d go with something much more upbeat to help that baby dance his way out of there in a hurry.
Happy birthday Nine. Welcome to a whole new internet name, that’s a pretty big deal.
Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday!
Yea! Happy belated birthday!
I said exactly the same thing when I turned 40 recently. 40 wasn’t that much different to 39 which wasn’t that different to 37 which wasn’t… hmmmm…. it looks like I can trace it aaalll the way back to 9. So, really, we must all be 8 in our hearts. x
TheEldestSon is also about to turn nine. Why does that feel like the fastest nine years in history? He has already started to say “When I turn 10…”.
Stop, slow down, I say.
Happy Birthday.x
I discovered your blog yesterday – don’t ask me how, I can barely remember this morning let alone yesterday – and have spent a VERY large portion of today reading your posts and weeping with laughter. I had things to do today. IMPORTANT things, like get dressed and feed my children. Curse you NDM, and your tear-inducing wit…(I plan, however, on getting my own back on the internet by adding you to my bloglist of Sites That Distract Me…)
Haven’t heard from you for a while….hope you are all well π
